Sindh Assembly Takes Stand Against Sahil Adeem’s Remarks on Women

-

Marvi Faseeh, a lawmaker from the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), has submitted a resolution to the Sindh Assembly condemning motivational speaker Sahil Adeem for his derogatory remarks about women on a recent SAMAA TV show.

During the show “Mukalma,” hosted by controversial screenwriter Khalil ur Rehman Qamar and Ayesha Jehanzeb, Adeem claimed that 95% of women in the country were ‘jahil’ (ignorant) and defended his statement despite criticism from the audience.

The backlash against Adeem was strong, with public figures like lawyer Jibran Nasir criticizing his handling of the conversation.

Faseeh’s resolution, submitted under Sub-Rule (1) of Rule 124 of the Rules of Procedure of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh, condemns Adeem’s remarks as offensive to religious, social, and legal values. It calls for legal action against him for his comments, which have deeply offended women.

The resolution is set to be included in the agenda of the upcoming Sindh Assembly session, where Faseeh plans to table it for discussion.
