Zia Rasheed’s Life: From Unprecedented Height to Tragic Health Struggles

Zia Rasheed, Pakistan’s tallest man, passed away on Tuesday after battling a prolonged illness. He died at the age of 30 in Vehari due to a chronic knee-related condition. His funeral was attended by a large crowd, including notable social and political figures.

Rasheed, who was recognized as Pakistan’s tallest man at 15, first experienced knee problems at 20, which persisted throughout his life. Despite undergoing three surgeries, his health continued to deteriorate. His family lamented the lack of adequate medical treatment and government support, attributing it to the worsening of his condition over time.

Born into a normal-sized family, Rasheed had a typical childhood in central Pakistan, attending school and enjoying cricket with friends and cousins. However, at the age of 12, he began an extraordinary growth spurt. By the age of 23, he had reached a height of eight feet, nearly matching the world record for the tallest man.

Despite his unique stature, Rasheed’s life was marked by significant challenges, including poor health and financial hardship.
