Tragic Incident – Laptop Explosion Claims Two Lives in Faisalabad Home

Published on

Two children tragically lost their lives and seven others were injured early Wednesday when a laptop explosion caused a fire at a residence in Faisalabad’s Sharifpur area, officials reported.

Dr. Hammad Ahmed, an emergency duty doctor at Allied Hospital, disclosed that nine individuals, including two women and five children aged three to nine, were admitted with severe burns.

“Later, a girl and a boy succumbed to their injuries,” he added.

Rescue 1122 officials indicated that the fire ignited when a laptop, plugged in for charging, exploded. Although the cause of the explosion has not been officially confirmed, incidents involving faulty lithium-ion batteries in laptops and mobile phones can lead to overheating, fires, and, in rare instances, explosions.

The victims, listed by the rescue service, ranged in age from three to 45 years old. The deceased were identified as a six-year-old girl and a nine-year-old boy.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz expressed her condolences to the grieving family and directed authorities to ensure the injured receive the best possible medical treatment.
