Updates from Dhaka” Students Demand Interim Setup Under Nobel Laureate Dr.Yunus

-

The situation in Dhaka remains tense as students continue their protests, demanding significant changes in the government.

The call for a new interim leadership has gained momentum following the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The leaders of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement have announced a plan for a temporary government led by Nobel Prize winner Dr. Muhammad Yunus.

They shared this information in a video message at 4:15 am on Tuesday. The main leaders in the video were Nahid Islam, Asif Mahmud, and Abu Bakar Mazumdar.

On Monday night, Nahid said they would create a plan for a new government within 24 hours. However, due to ongoing violence, they decided to announce their plan quickly, even in the middle of the night.

President Mohammed Shahabuddin agreed to form a temporary government after Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina resigned.

This decision was made after a meeting at Bangabhaban with leaders of the Army, Navy, Air Force, political parties, and civil society.

The information was shared by Muhammad Shiplu Zaman, Assistant Press Secretary of Bangabhaban.
