Republican Senator Lindsey Graham is under fire after mocking climate icon Greta Thunberg’s daring humanitarian voyage to Gaza — a mission aimed at defying Israel’s naval blockade and delivering life-saving aid.

Thunberg, alongside Game of Thrones star Liam Cunningham and others, set sail from Italy with the Freedom Flotilla Coalition (FFC), determined to reach Palestinians under siege.
But Graham took to X (formerly Twitter) with a snide jab:
“Hope Greta and her friends can swim.”

His comment triggered a storm of criticism.
“Why would a U.S. senator threaten a young activist?” one user asked. Another slammed the remark: “Is a 69-year-old really joking about a 22-year-old drowning? Is this what American politics has come to?”
The backlash comes amid serious risks — the last Freedom Flotilla mission was hit by suspected Israeli drone strikes.
Still, Thunberg and crew remain undeterred, navigating danger to spotlight Gaza’s deepening humanitarian crisis and deliver critical aid where the world has looked
