A promising young life cut short—18-year-old beauty queen Cadence Fredrickson, who recently won a major pageant and secured a $40,000 college scholarship, lost her life in a devastating car accident.
On February 17, while driving on a Florida highway, Fredrickson’s car collided with a trailer, killing her instantly. Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash.
The Florida Highway Patrol reported that the accident occurred on State Highway 4. The 56-year-old truck driver sustained minor injuries, while Fredrickson did not survive.
Her mother shared that the tragedy struck just minutes from their home, leaving her family, friends, and community in deep shock and grief.
Just a week before her untimely passing, Fredrickson had celebrated receiving a scholarship from the Allison McCranie Ingram Foundation on Instagram, expressing gratitude: “This generous support will help shape my future and make my dreams come true. Thank you to the Ingram family, the foundation, and everyone involved!”
Fredrickson had received offers from nine colleges and dreamed of becoming a veterinarian. Beyond her academic ambitions, she was known for her philanthropic work.
After being crowned Little Miss Northwest Florida in 2017, she founded Cada Promise, a charity initiative that provided teddy bears and blankets to children in foster care, homeless shelters, and hospitals. She also raised $25,000 for the Ronald McDonald House, leaving behind a legacy of generosity and compassion.
