Virat Kohli is facing strong criticism following a tragic incident during Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) historic IPL 2024 win celebration in Bengaluru.
In the capital of Karnataka, Bengaluru, a stampede broke out outside M. Chinnaswamy Stadium and another nearby location when thousands of fans gathered to watch the team’s victory parade. Sadly, at least 11 people lost their lives and many others were injured in the chaos.
After the incident, Virat Kohli expressed condolences on social media, but fans and former cricketers harshly criticized him for continuing the celebration.
Former Indian cricketer Atul Wasan strongly condemned Kohli and the RCB management, saying he could not believe that people were dying outside the stadium while the ceremony continued inside.
Atul questioned how Kohli remained unaware of the tragedy when politicians and franchise officials surely knew. Wasan added,
“The corporate sector and politicians can often be ruthless; they care only about revenue and balance sheets.”
This tragedy exposes administrative failures and raises the question: Is celebrating a major victory more important than valuing human lives?
Netizens bluntly criticized the administration and highlighted the miserable condition of the common man in India.

They expressed deep frustration over the lack of proper safety measures and accountability, pointing out how ordinary citizens often suffer due to negligence and poor management during such large public events.
