Breaking – 100 Nigerian School Children Freed After Month-Long Ordeal

-

Nigeria: The Nigerian government has successfully ensured the safe release of 100 school children who were kidnapped from Niger State a month ago, local media reported yesterday.

According to U.S. media, this incident is considered one of the worst mass abductions in the country’s recent history. On November 21, armed attackers stormed Saint Mary Catholic Boarding School in Papere, abducting 303 children and 12 staff members.

During the attack, 50 children managed to escape amid gunfire and chaos, but the fate of the remaining children and staff remained unknown for several weeks.

Local media confirmed the children’s release, though details have not been immediately shared. Niger State officials and the Christian Association of Nigeria said they had not yet received formal notification from the federal government.

Daniel Atori, spokesperson for the Christian organization, stated:

“We have not yet received official confirmation from the government, but we hope the news is accurate. We await the safe return of the remaining children.”
