Social Media War – TikTok Introduces ‘Whee’ as Competitor to Instagram

-

Byte Dance, the company behind TikTok, has quietly launched a new app called “Whee,” which is being compared to Meta’s Instagram.

According to a report from Android Police, the app is currently available for download in several countries, including India and Brazil, but not yet in the United States.

Attempts to log into the app after downloading it from the Google Play Store in the US have resulted in error messages. Even using a virtual private network (VPN) did not work, as reported.

Screenshots of Whee show a familiar interface similar to Instagram, but with a focus on sharing photos privately with chosen friends.
