Instagram is rolling out a new feature that lets users comment publicly on Stories, shifting from the previous system where responses were sent as private messages.
This update aims to enhance user engagement on the Meta-owned platform by allowing comments to be visible to followers and those followed by the user who posted the Story.
The comments will be temporary, disappearing after 24 hours, mirroring the Stories’ lifespan. Users can control whether comments are enabled or disabled for each Story they share. It remains uncertain if comments will be archived after the Story expires.
This new feature builds on previous updates, such as disappearing “notes” on grid posts and Reels, and introduces floating hearts to highlight some likes on posts, enhancing visibility and interaction.
