Bill Gates has officially opened up about his new chapter in life, revealing his relationship with Paula Hurd, whom he calls his “serious girlfriend.”
In a rare and candid interview, the 69-year-old Microsoft co-founder shared that he and Hurd are “having fun,” exploring new experiences like attending the Olympics, and making the most of their time together.
Gates, who has largely kept his personal life private since his 2021 divorce from Melinda French Gates, reflected on the difficult but meaningful journey of his 27-year marriage. “The divorce wasn’t great,” Gates said, “but the experience—having those three kids and doing all that work together—I’d do it all over again.”
The relationship between Gates and Hurd, a philanthropist and businesswoman, first made headlines in 2022, a year after his split from Melinda. Hurd, previously married to Oracle CEO Mark Hurd until his passing in 2019, has found her own new path alongside Gates.
As Gates nears his 70thh birthday, he also reflects on his upbringing, crediting his parents for the foundation they provided him. “I’ve been lucky to have amazing parents,” he said, sharing how they encouraged him to explore newh things, which set the stage for his groundbreaking career.
Despite the challenges in his personal life, Gates remains focused on his passion projects. “I’ve moved past theH divorce, and Melinda’s doing well. I’ve got a lot of work I love to do,” he said, proving that he’s embracing this new phase of life with renewed optimism and excitement.
