The atmosphere was electric at the Combaxx 7th Asian Taekwondo Open Championships in Islamabad as Asia’s top athletes clashed in fierce competition for dominance. But it was Pakistan’s taekwondo team that truly lit up the arena, delivering breathtaking performances and securing an incredible 2 gold, 4 silver, and 8 bronze medals in both male and female divisions.

The action kicked off with the Male -48kg category, where Pakistan’s Ahmed Muzamil earned a silver in a gripping contest. Alongside him, Qureshi Muhammad Suleman and Ansari clinched bronze, showcasing Pakistan’s presence on the podium. Afghanistan’s Tamim Rahmani emerged victorious with gold in this category, but Pakistan’s fighters made their mark.

The Male -55kg division saw an equally thrilling battle, with Afghanistan’s Akeed Hukmuddin snatching gold. Pakistan’s Yasir Muhammad put up a spectacular fight for silver, while Sameer Muhammad and Akbar Sh Muhammad Muaz added to Pakistan’s medal haul with bronze, highlighting the nation’s strength in the category.

In the Female -44kg category, the crowd was in awe as Pakistan’s Anwar Ayesha claimed the gold in an unforgettable performance, while Habiba Umme secured silver. Not to be outdone, Sarwary Manahil and Aslam Safia completed a clean sweep for Pakistan, earning bronze medals and marking a historic moment.

The Pakistani dominance continued with the Female -49kg category, where Khan Aiman dazzled the crowd, clinching gold. Fatima Ghouse followed up with a powerful silver, while Khawakani Fatima Tuz Zahra and Khan Khadija added bronze to the tally, reaffirming Pakistan’s dominance in women’s taekwondo.

With many more categories left to be contested, Pakistan’s athletes are charging forward with unstoppable momentum.
