Karachi: In a breathtaking deep-sea ceremony, the PSL 10 trophy was unveiled ahead of the tournament’s kickoff on April 11 under the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
With support from the Pakistan Navy, the trophy was dramatically revealed in the depths of the Arabian Sea before being handed over to PSL stakeholders. In a striking treasure-hunt-style moment, foreign divers retrieved it from the ocean floor, adding to the spectacle. Former Test captains Moin Khan and Sarfaraz Ahmed were among the notable attendees.
Weighing 10 kg and crafted from silver, the trophy—named Luminor to symbolize light—features over 22,000 precious stones. To mark the league’s landmark 10th edition, HBL PSL opted for this extraordinary unveiling, attended by PCB and HBL officials, franchise representatives, and cricketers, including Moin Khan, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Rumman Raees, PSL CEO Salman Naseer, Quetta Gladiators’ Hasan Nadeem Umar, and HBL’s Ali Habib and Abrar Ahmed Mir, among others.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi hailed the deep-sea unveiling as a testament to the league’s commitment to innovation and excellence. “As we celebrate a decade of HBL PSL, this trophy reflects the league’s illustrious journey and its bright future,” he remarked.
PSL CEO Salman Naseer highlighted the league’s ongoing evolution. “Just as the ocean holds immense depths, HBL PSL has been a vast reservoir of talent and sportsmanship. This unique unveiling symbolizes the passion and dedication our players and fans bring to the game,” he said.
The milestone 10th edition of HBL PSL will run from April 11 to May 18 across Karachi, Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi. The tournament opens with an electrifying clash between defending champions Islamabad United and Lahore Qalandars at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
