Transforming Qaddafi Stadium-A New Era Awaits as Renovation Near Completion

-

As Pakistan gears up for the upcoming Champions Trophy, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is actively upgrading Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi recently inspected the Qaddafi stadium and found that renovations are approximately 50% complete.

During his visit, he emphasized the need for additional parking and instructed officials to enhance the stadium’s exterior. He noted significant progress in the enclosure renovations and main building flooring, which is nearly finished. In a meeting at the FWO camp office, Naqvi reviewed project designs and assessed updates from the FWO Project Director.

He stressed the importance of completing the renovations before the Champions Trophy, highlighting that Gaddafi Stadium is being revamped to meet international standards and improve facilities for both players and fans. The meeting included key PCB officials as well as representatives from FWO and NESPAK.

Additionally, on October 22, the International Cricket Council (ICC) endorsed Pakistan’s preparations for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, scheduled to take place in Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi from February 19 to March 9, 2025. In a recent meeting in Dubai, Naqvi presented a comprehensive update on the ongoing renovations and upgrades at the three selected stadiums. He also invited the ICC to visit Pakistan to see the improvements firsthand, aiming to instill confidence in hosting a successful event.
