PCB Exposes “Big Lie” About Champions Trophy 85 Million Loss

-

LAHORE: Is Pakistan Cricket really at a financial loss, or is this just another media-manufactured myth? The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has fired back at Indian media, shutting down claims of an $85 million loss from hosting the Champions Trophy 2025.

At a press conference in Lahore, PCB Chairman’s advisor Amir Mir and CFO Javed Murtaza exposed the false propaganda, revealing that Pakistan not only profited from the tournament but exceeded expectations.

“We need to call out the Indian media’s deception and those spreading anti-Pakistan narratives. Unfortunately, even some local outlets have fallen for it,” Mir stated.

Setting the record straight, he confirmed that Pakistan Cricket will earn Rs. 3 billion, surpassing the initial Rs. 2 billion estimate. “This revenue comes from ticket sales and ground fees,” he explained.

And here’s the kicker—PCB didn’t spend a single rupee. “The ICC covered all $70 million in expenses, and a full audit is yet to be conducted,” Mir clarified.

Declaring the eight-team tournament a resounding success, he revealed that PCB has paid Rs. 4 billion in taxes while its financial reserves continue to grow.

“The Champions Trophy was a win for Pakistan, both on and off the field. The numbers speak for themselves,” Mir concluded, shutting down the rumors once and for all.
