Hi Pakistanis! Congratulations — finally, some good news from cricket… but not from the men’s team!

It’s our women who’ve made us proud — Pakistan has officially qualified for the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 after a commanding win over Thailand at Lahore’s iconic Gaddafi Stadium.

In the crucial 12th match of the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier, opener Sidra Amin played a composed knock of 80, while skipper Fatima Sana led from the front with a brilliant all-round show — scoring 62 runs and taking 3 wickets for 39.
Choosing to bat first, Pakistan were struggling at 85 for 4 when Sidra and Fatima stitched together a match-saving 97-run partnership, taking the total to 205.
Thailand’s bowlers made early inroads, with Thipatcha Putthawong taking 2 for 37. Phannita Maya and Onnicha Kamchomphu chipped in with a wicket each.
But in reply, Thailand’s batting faltered under pressure. The team was dismissed for just 118 runs in the 35th over. Pakistan’s bowlers put up a collective show — Rameen Shamim (3-38), Nashra Sandhu (3-19), and Fatima Sana (3-39) each grabbed three wickets, while Sadia Iqbal added one to the tally.

With this comprehensive victory, Pakistan not only dominated the day but also secured their place on the global stage at the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025.
