Who needs a wedding reception when the excitement of cricket is at your doorstep? A newlywed couple made the unconventional choice of attending the second Test match between Pakistan and West Indies at Multan Cricket Stadium instead of attending their walima.
Spectators were left stunned as the bride and groom, dressed in full wedding attire, chose the cricket action over their special day’s celebration. The bride, glowing with excitement (and probably a touch of makeup), shared, “It’s always been my dream to watch a match live in a stadium, and my husband made it happen. I couldn’t be happier!”
The groom, equally passionate about cricket (and his new wife), added, “It’s our wedding day, but Pakistan is playing! How could I miss this chance to support my team?”
In a light-hearted moment, he remarked during an interview, “I’m praying for Pakistan’s victory today. But first, I hope my wife doesn’t regret marrying a cricket fanatic!”
However, despite their excitement, the couple’s joy was short-lived as Pakistan’s performance left them heartbroken. The team bowled out the West Indies for just 163 runs, but their batting collapsed, and they were dismissed for just 154. Mohammad Rizwan (49) and Saud Shakeel (32) tried to keep the hopes alive, but the rest of the team seemed to falter at a crucial moment.
The moral? Love may last forever, but cricket can sometimes leave you with a bitter defeat.
