Karachi: In a dramatic turn of events, former Pakistan cricket coach Mushtaq Ahmed has announced his decision to serve defamation notices worth millions to legendary pacers Waqar Younis and Wasim Akram over their remarks on his coaching.
Mushtaq shared a video message with private TV host Fakhr Alam, which was aired during the program. In the video, he addressed the criticism directed at him by Waqar Younis and Wasim Akram, who were guests on the show.
He stated, “Waqar Younis and Wasim Akram are my former colleagues, and I have great respect for them. However, if they continue mocking my coaching, I have no choice but to take legal action. I will be sending a notice of PKR 200 million to Waqar Younis and PKR 150 million to Wasim Akram.”
Mushtaq further added that the era of social media has modernized the legal system, and his lawyer will soon issue formal notices to both cricketers.
Addressing Fakhr Alam, he also took a jibe at Waqar Younis, saying, “Tell Waqar that fights are not won by height but by courage and bravery—so don’t judge me by my height.”
In response, both Waqar Younis and Wasim Akram burst into laughter, joking that Mushtaq’s video had added entertainment to the show. Playfully, they quipped, “Looks like our next meeting will be in court!”
