Islamabad United stands as a formidable franchise in the Pakistan Super League, renowned for its bold and courageous cricketing style. Owned by business executives Ali Naqvi and Amna Naqvi of Leonine Global, the franchise proudly represents the capital city of Pakistan, Islamabad. Their home ground in the Pakistan Super League is the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. The ownership rights of this franchise were acquired for a sum of 15 million US dollars in December 2015.
Islamabad United stands out as one of the most consistently successful franchises in the Pakistan Super League. The team secured the title of HBL PSL champions in the inaugural season of 2016 and clinched victory for the second time in HBL PSL 3 in 2018.
IU is one of only two franchises to have won the HBL PSL twice. Additionally, Islamabad United has reached the finals of the HBL PSL twice out of the eight finals held so far, emerging victorious on both occasions.
