Former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan has reignited an old rivalry, once again targeting Shahid Afridi with insulting remarks.
In a recent interview, Pathan recalled a 2006 flight from Karachi to Lahore, claiming Afridi messed up his hair and mocked him as “kid.” Instead of letting it slide, Pathan lashed out — even stooping to a crude taunt that Afridi “must have eaten dog meat, that’s why he keeps barking.”

Analysts say Pathan is twisting old tales to stay in the limelight and fuel anti-Pakistan sentiment. With a career remembered more for flashes than consistency, critics argue Pathan now relies on trash talk against Pakistani cricketers to remain relevant.
Cricket fans, however, see it as a cheap stunt that drags the gentleman’s game into the dirt of hate and prejudice.
