New zealand’s Clean Sweep Shakes Indian Cricket – Leadership Faces Tough Questions

-

India’s recent clean sweep defeat at home to New Zealand has sparked a wave of introspection and scrutiny across the team’s leadership.

According to Indian media, the BCCI summoned the captain, coach, and chief selector for a six-hour meeting ahead of the team’s tour to Australia.

Key board members, including Roger Binny and Jay Shah, were present, posing a series of pointed questions to the team’s think tank.

The session examined the roles of Captain Rohit Sharma, Coach Gautam Gambhir, and Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar, with a particular focus on Gambhir’s coaching approach. Reports suggest that Gambhir’s style contrasts with that of Rahul Dravid, and it appears the captain, coach, and selector are not entirely on the same page, revealing possible divisions within the leadership team.

Questions were also raised about the decision to rest Jasprit Bumrah in the third Test, adding further complexity to the internal assessment.
