Pakistan Takes Over as Head of Asian Cricket Council, Naqvi Becomes President

Pakistan has officially taken charge of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), with PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi assuming the role of president on April 3, 2025. Naqvi expressed his gratitude for the opportunity and pledged to work with all member boards to advance Asian cricket on the global stage.

He emphasized Asia’s vital role in world cricket and committed to fostering its growth. Naqvi also thanked outgoing president Shammi Silva for his leadership and significant contributions during his tenure.

Silva reflected on his time as president, noting key achievements like securing record-breaking commercial rights for the Asia Cup and establishing a new pathway for emerging teams. He praised the dedication of ACC member boards and credited his predecessor, Jay Shah, for building a strong foundation for the future of the ACC.
