From Draft Picks to Anthem Debates, Ali Tareen Becomes the Voice of PSL
Multan Sultans’ outspoken owner Ali Tareen doesn’t hold back—whether it’s PSL anthems, PCB policies, or even his own squad.
Ali Tareen has once again made waves during PSL 10, voicing his opinions on everything from league decisions to his team’s performance. Known for his candid takes, Tareen has become one of the most vocal figures in the tournament.

It started with the anthem announcement. As singer Ali Zafar returned to voice the official PSL 10 song, Tareen took to Instagram—without naming names—to criticize the repeated selection of the same “middle-aged” artist. “Pakistan has many amazing artists,” he said, “yet more than half the PSL anthems go to just one singer.” His message: the league needs fresh voices.

But the commentary didn’t end there.
After Multan Sultans suffered a high-scoring loss to Karachi Kings—despite a brilliant 105* from captain Mohammad Rizwan—Tareen turned to X (formerly Twitter) with sarcasm.
“Well, we learned something—especially from James Vince and Khushdil!” he posted, poking fun at his own team. In another jab, he added, “At least we fielded!”

Tareen has also been critical of the PSL’s franchise model, calling it a “rental system” lacking true ownership—unlike the IPL, which allows long-term investment and foreign participation.
From anthem choices to league structure and post-match digs, Ali Tareen continues to be more than just a team owner—he’s one of the most outspoken voices in the league.
