Afghanistan Confirms to Participate in Champions Trophy 2025 in Pakistan

-

The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has officially confirmed that Afghanistan will participate in the 2025 Champions Trophy, which will be hosted by Pakistan.

This confirmation was made at the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) annual meeting in Colombo, Sri Lanka. ACB Chairman Waiz Ashraf and CEO Naseeb Khan relayed the decision to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi.

During the discussions, ACB officials expressed their full commitment to sending the Afghan team to Pakistan for the tournament, dispelling recent social media rumors about potential security concerns.

“Our team will indeed travel to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy 2025,” they affirmed, rejecting false reports that suggested Afghanistan had security concerns similar to India’s.
