England Cricket Team Achieves Historic Milestone in Test Cricket
The England cricket team has reached an extraordinary milestone in Test cricket by becoming the first team to score a total of 500,000 runs.
Since playing their first Test match in 1877, England took 147 years and 1,082 matches to achieve this feat, with 717 players. The landmark was reached on Saturday during the second Test against New Zealand when Harry Brook scored two runs off Kiwi bowler Williams in the 51st over of England’s second innings.
England has also played the most Test matches (1,082) in history. Australia follows in second place, having played 868 Tests since 1877.
The English team holds several records in Test cricket, including the most centuries, with their players amassing 929 hundreds in the format. Australia ranks second in terms of total Test runs, with over 428,000 runs scored to date.
