Karachi: The full lineup for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 is now official! 20 teams will battle it out next year in India and Sri Lanka.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) became the latest team to qualify by beating Japan by 8 wickets in the Asia/East Asia-Pacific Qualifier. UAE’s Haider Ali shined with 3 wickets for just 20 runs, while openers Alishan Sharafu and Mohammad Wasim stitched a 70-run partnership to chase 117 in just 13 overs
With UAE’s win, the last three qualifiers—UAE, Nepal, and Oman—secured their spots in the mega tournament.
Who’s Already In?
Hosts India and Sri Lanka, along with the top 7 teams from T20 World Cup 2024—Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, South Africa, USA, and West Indies—have already qualified.
Other direct entries include New Zealand, Pakistan, and Ireland based on T20 rankings. From regional qualifiers:
- Americas: Canada
- Europe: Italy (making their T20 WC debut) and Netherlands
- Africa: Namibia and Zimbabwe
Tournament Format
The 2026 T20 World Cup will feature 4 groups of 5 teams. Each team plays 4 group-stage matches, and the top 2 from each group advance to the Super 8. Another round-robin determines the semi-finalists, and the winners meet in the final.
