“TV Scripts Bore Me — Bring Me Something That Burns!”
Veteran star Maria Wasti has finally broken her silence on her long absence from the T.V screen — and no, it’s not a sabbatical.
Appearing on a comedy talk show, the 90s drama queen revealed the real reason: uninspiring scripts.
“There’s no dramatic reason,” she said coolly. “I’m just waiting for a script that sets my soul on fire — something raw, real, and risky.”
Despite getting plenty of offers, Wasti said today’s TV landscape is a creative dead zone.
“Same stories. Flat characters. It’s like déjà vu every time. Real people have layers — where’s the depth?”
Reminiscing about her glory days on PTV, she confessed she used to lose herself in those roles. “Those scripts had soul. Today’s don’t.”
Wasti also got real about love, calling it a “selfish emotion” that transforms you. And she dropped a hilarious story about a fan who followed her home:
“I acted my way out of it. Slammed the door and told him to try tomorrow!”
Her fiery remarks have reignited a debate in the industry: Where’s the originality?
