Tom Cruise may be hanging up his Ethan Hunt boots, but don’t expect him to ride off into the sunset anytime soon! The Hollywood icon just confirmed that Mission: Impossible – Final Reckoning will be his last outing in the high-octane franchise, but retirement? Not even close.

“It’s the final! It’s not called ‘final’ for nothing,” Cruise told The Hollywood Reporter at the red carpet premiere in NYC. The action-packed saga, hitting global screens on May 23, wraps up a nearly 30-year run of Cruise playing the unstoppable IMF agent.
But at 61, Cruise is just getting warmed up.
“I’m making movies into my 80s… actually, my 100s!” he declared. “Action, drama, comedy—you name it, I’m doing it. I’ll never stop.”
Drawing inspiration from fellow action legend Harrison Ford, Cruise is charging full throttle into his next chapter—and there’s one genre still on his radar: musicals. Yep, you heard that right.
“Definitely musicals,” he revealed during a BFI chat in London. Seems like Cruise is ready to swap stunts for showtunes—at least for a bit.
With a star-studded cast including Hayley Atwell, Simon Pegg, and Angela Bassett, Final Reckoning promises to go out with a cinematic bang. But if Cruise has his way, the real show is just getting started.
