The highly anticipated web series Fruit Chaat by internationally acclaimed Pakistani director Muiz Abbas will soon Premier on web .
Written by author and human rights activist Tanzila Khan, who also plays the lead role, the series features renowned actors Fawad Jalal and Nadia Afgan in pivotal roles.
Fruit Chaat tells the uplifting story of Shabana, a determined and highly educated woman who uses a wheelchair. Despite the challenges and prejudices she faces, Shabana’s resilience helps her carve out a meaningful place in society. The series sheds light on the struggles of overcoming societal biases against disabilities while chasing dreams.
Blending humor with thoughtful themes, the seven-episode series explores employment, love, friendship, and the experiences of women, aiming to both entertain and spark reflection.
Previously released as a short film, Fruit Chaat won multiple international awards, including “Best Short Film” at the Muslim International Film Festival (UK), Women International Film Festival, and in Russia.
Muiz Abbas, known for his groundbreaking work in TV and film, is the only Pakistani director to win two Zee5 Global Content Festival awards. With Fruit Chaat, he continues to elevate Pakistan’s entertainment industry on a global stage.
The series is currently in production and is expected to release in early January, with the official date to be announced soon.
