The iconic Indian television series “CID,” known for its gripping crime stories, had a significant impact on viewers in both India and Pakistan.
The TV series “CID” enjoyed extraordinary popularity in India, much like “Crime Patrol.” It also had a large fan base in Pakistan.
This drama series, which was telecast for 20 years, was abruptly discontinued six years ago. Shivaji Satam, who played the lead role in “CID,” has spoken about the reasons behind its cancellation.
The lead actor of this successful series revealed that differences between the producer and the channel were responsible for the downfall of this popular show.
In an interview, Shivaji Satam said, “We were competing against ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati.’ At times, our TRP (ratings) would drop, but that happens with every show.“
Shivaji Satam also mentioned that the channel had changed the show’s timing. “It seemed as if viewers were being deliberately distanced from the show,” he said.
Produced by Fireworks Productions, the show aired from 1998 to 2018. Along with ACP Pradyuman, characters like Abhijeet and Fredricks were also audience favorites.
