Bollywood actress Urmila Matondkar has reportedly initiated divorce proceedings to end her eight-year marriage with Kashmiri businessman and model Mohsin Akhtar Mir.
Sources reveal that the 50-year-old actress filed for divorce in a Mumbai court around four months ago.
While the exact reasons for the separation remain under wraps, it is believed that the decision was not mutual. A court insider hinted that the couple had been going through a rough patch for some time. Urmila has unfollowed Mohsin on social media, though he still follows her.
Their last public interaction was in June 2024, when Urmila shared an Eid post wishing for peace and harmony. The couple, who tied the knot in a private ceremony at Urmila’s Mumbai residence in 2016, had a 10-year age gap and kept their relationship largely private.
Despite the end of their marriage, Urmila continues to focus on her career and political engagements. She made her political debut with the Indian National Congress in 2019 and later joined Shiv Sena in 2020. Urmila’s last appearance on the big screen was in the 2018 film Blackmail, and she has since been active in TV shows and public engagements.
