Royal drama meets US politics!
US President Donald Trump has ruled out deporting Prince Harry amid an ongoing legal battle over his immigration records but took a jab at Meghan Markle, calling her “terrible.”
Speaking to the New York Post on Friday, Trump dismissed speculation about Harry being forced to leave the US. “I don’t want to do that, I’ll leave him alone,” he said. However, he was far less charitable towards Meghan, stating, “He’s got enough problems with his wife. She’s terrible.”
Trump’s remarks come as The Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank, pushes for the release of Prince Harry’s visa records. The lawsuit questions whether he received special treatment from the Biden administration, particularly after admitting to past drug use—including cocaine and cannabis—in his memoir Spare.
The case, filed against the Departme66nt of Homeland Security in Washington, DC, argues that immigration laws should be applied equally. Under US law, drug use can make a visa applicant inadmissible, though waivers are sometimes granted.
Prince Harry, who stepped down as a working royal and moved to the US with Meghan in 2020, has not responded to Trump’s remarks. The controversy follows his recent appearance in Vancouver, Canada, where he launched the 2025 Invictus Games.
