In a recent interview, veteran Pakistani film star Shaan Shahid revealed that he had received offers to star in both Bollywood films and local dramas but chose to turn them down.
He specifically mentioned that Aamir Khan had approached him with a role in the movie Ghajini, promising a payment of 80 million Indian rupees.
When asked about his decision to decline, Shaan explained, “I’ve never discouraged any artist from performing in India.
Anyone who wants to go can certainly do so. My father, however, had strong concerns about Kashmir; his views on the situation were very firm, especially regarding the suffering of our Muslim brothers.”
He recalled that Aamir Khan personally contacted him to offer a villain’s role in Ghajini, to which he replied, “Isn’t there anyone else in India who can play a villain?”
Shaan further clarified that the producers were interested in casting him not for his talent but primarily because he was Pakistani, which he found unacceptable.
He also disclosed that he had been offered roles in films like Saat Khoon Maaf and Delhi-6.
Additionally, he mentioned receiving an offer for the role played by Fawad Khan in the popular drama Humsafar, which he declined as well.
Shaan expressed disappointment with the quality of television scripts, stating, “So far, I haven’t come across a drama story that has really impressed me.
