In a heartfelt post, Pakistani senior actress Shagufta Ejaz opened up about the emotional turmoil she has been enduring after the death of her beloved husband.
The loss of a life partner, especially after a prolonged battle with illness, has left her grappling with deep sorrow. Yet, in her grief, she has shown incredible strength and resilience, sharing her journey of pain, healing, and hope with her fans.
Shagufta Ejaz’s second husband, Yahya Siddiqui, passed away in September after a long battle with cancer.
The strong-willed Shagufta Ejaz, who is going through the most difficult time of her life after the death of her second husband, also shared her emotional breakdown with her fans.
On the photo and video-sharing app Instagram, the actress expressed her gratitude for the love and concern she has received from everyone.
She said, “You all keep asking how I am feeling, and I want to tell you that I am still trying to accept the reality of what I saw throughout my husband’s illness.”
Shagufta added, “I thought I was mentally prepared, but it hit me hard, and I believe that ‘iddat’ (mourning period) is the personal time when a woman finds her strength and learns to move forward.”
The actress also shared pictures of some melted candles, which she had reshaped into new molds.
Reflecting on the candles, she said, “These are the candles we had blown out together many years ago while celebrating joyous moments. Now, by remaking them, we’ve tried to relive those memories.”
Shagufta Ejaz said, “As I struggle to return to life, please keep us in your prayers.”
Encouraging herself, the actress added that as a single parent, she has not forgotten her responsibilities and, God willing, will fulfill them with even more strength and dedication, which her husband and daughters have instilled in her.
She also recalled the song “Aaj Janay Ki Zid Na Karo” and dedicated it to her late husband. The song was part of Yahya Siddiqui’s movie Badal Aur Bijli.
It’s worth noting that Yahya Siddiqui was well-known in the film and cultural circles, with connections to the showbiz industry. He had also produced two films and worked under private production for dramas.
