Bollywood’s Bhatt family just added a dash of drama to its already star-studded legacy, thanks to Rahul Bhatt—son of filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and a familiar face from Bigg Boss 4—who made waves with his surprising comments about half-sister Alia Bhatt.

In a recent interview with Hindi Rush, Rahul opened up about his bond with Alia, sharing a mix of admiration, honesty, and some unexpected comparisons that got social media talking.
When asked about their relationship, Rahul said things have always been cordial but never particularly close.
“She is a mother now and very successful. I respect her for taking care of my other stepsister, Shaheen. But I don’t expect her to call or meet me. We never had that bond.”
The real spark, though, came when he was asked about the Bhatt family legacy. Rahul had high praise for his sister Pooja Bhatt, calling her the most talented among the siblings and his biggest inspiration in acting.
Then came the eyebrow-raising moment- He claimed that Alia doesn’t even come close to Pooja when it comes to talent, looks, and charisma, calling her a “paani kam chai” version in comparison.
“In my opinion, she’s not even half of what my real sister is. Not in talent, not in looks — she’s nothing in front of Pooja. Yeh mera personal opinion hai.”
Naturally, his words lit up the internet. While some fans backed his support for Pooja, others felt his dig at Alia—one of India’s top stars—was uncalled for.
So far, Alia and the rest of the Bhatt clan have stayed mum on the comments. But one thing’s for sure—this unexpected family spotlight has definitely caught Bollywood’s attention.
