Malaika Arora is mourning the loss of her father, Anil Arora, who has reportedly died by suicide in Mumbai.
The incident occurred early Wednesday morning when Anil allegedly jumped from the terrace of his Bandra apartment on the sixth floor.
The police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding this tragic event. Anil’s body has been sent for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
Arbaaz Khan, Malaika’s ex-husband, and senior police officials were seen at her residence following the incident. Sources close to the family have suggested that it might have been an accident, but this is yet to be confirmed.
Malaika’s parents, Anil Arora and Joyce Polycarp, divorced when Malaika was just 11 years old. In past interviews, Malaika has opened up about the impact of her parents’ separation on her and her younger sister, Amrita. Despite the challenges, she has credited her mother with teaching her the values of hard work and financial independence.
Reflecting on her upbringing, Malaika described it as difficult but formative, stating, “I had a wonderful childhood, but it wasn’t easy.
Those tough times taught me valuable lessons and shaped who I am today. My mother’s strength and dedication were crucial in my development and success.”
