In a recent disclosure, Hamza Firdous Jamal shared insights into his family’s complex dynamics following his father Firdous Jamal’s controversial interview, in which he claimed he had left the family and that they were happier without him.
Hamza explained his decision to address these statements publicly, revealing his mother’s perspective.
“As a son, I’d prefer to keep family matters private,” he noted. “But since my father has made this public, I feel it’s only fair to share our side.” He revealed that his mother sought a Khula (divorce) after 35 years of marriage, adding that such a choice is never made lightly.
Hamza praised his mother’s resilience, saying, “She endured years of pain, hoping things would improve, but they didn’t.” He also hinted at his father’s flaws, acknowledging that, despite being a good person, his father had significant shortcomings that impacted the family.
Speaking about his father’s cancer treatment, Hamza shared the emotional toll it took on the family, highlighting their support and care throughout his illness, despite his father’s claims to the contrary. “We did everything possible for him, but it sometimes felt unappreciated,” he said.
Hamza concluded by expressing a desire for privacy in navigating the family’s challenges, adding, “My father has chosen his own path, living apart from us.”

Ramiz Raja Defends Himself Amid Backlash from Shan Masood Interview
In a recent turn of events, former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ramiz Raja has found himself at the center of controversy following his interview with Pakistan’s Test captain, Shan Masood.
The discussion, conducted alongside Zainab Abbas after the Pakistan vs. England Test series, has sparked significant criticism over Raja’s questioning style regarding Masood’s leadership.
Under Masood’s captaincy, the Pakistan cricket team started the series with six consecutive losses, raising eyebrows and concerns among fans and analysts alike. However, the team staged a remarkable comeback, clinching a series victory at home for the first time in over 1,300 days, largely due to stellar performances from spinners Sajid Khan and Noman Ali.
During the interview, Raja questioned Masood about the team’s earlier struggles, asking pointedly, “How did you achieve this, six losses in a row?”
Many perceived this line of questioning as inappropriate and disrespectful, particularly as it came during a celebratory moment for the team. Former players like Mohammad Amir also expressed their disapproval of Raja’s approach.
Social media platforms erupted with criticism, with many labeling Raja’s inquiries as belittling and dismissive of Masood’s achievements.
In response to the backlash, Raja took to his official YouTube channel to clarify his intentions. “I asked a couple of questions, and my goal wasn’t to belittle anyone or cast Pakistan’s victory in a negative light,” he stated, emphasizing the importance of the team’s success for the broader cricketing community. He stressed that victories lead to increased opportunities for players and the sport as a whole. “The more Pakistan wins, the more opportunities open up for all of us in the cricketing ecosystem,” he remarked.
Raja expressed frustration over the uproar, dismissing the influence of social media on his career.
“If I lived my life based on social media narratives, I wouldn’t be in this field,” he asserted. He further criticized those with “uninformed opinions” who lack cricketing experience yet consider themselves experts. “When Bangladesh won 2-0, I didn’t ask for anyone to be removed. Why would I question Shan’s captaincy after a series which Pakistan has won?”
As the debate continues, Raja’s comments highlight the challenges of navigating public perception in the world of sports commentary.
The cricket community awaits further developments as both Raja and Masood continue to lead in their respective roles.
