Elon Musk, the tech billionaire, quietly welcomed his twelfth child earlier this year.
He confirmed with sources that Shivon Zilis, who works at Neuralink Corp., is the mother of the new baby.
Musk clarified that the birth wasn’t a secret but simply wasn’t publicly announced.
He emphasized that their friends and family were aware of the happy news.
He emphasized that the absence of a press release does not equate to secrecy, adding, “Failure to issue a press release, which would be bizarre, does not mean ‘secret.'”
Musk’s family prefers to keep details like the baby’s gender and name private, respecting their wish for a low-key approach to their children’s lives.
This marks Musk’s third child with Zilis, joining twins Strider and Azure, born in November 2021.
Beyond his children with Zilis, Musk has five children with ex-wife Justine Wilson.
Their children include Nevada, born in 2002, who tragically passed away at 10 weeks old, and twins Griffin and Vivian born in 2004.
They also had triplet boys Kai, Saxon, and Damian in 2006 via in vitro fertilization (IVF). Musk and Wilson divorced in 2008. His subsequent marriage to actor Talulah Riley from 2010 to 2016 did not result in children.
Musk’s relationship with musician Grimes produced three children: X Æ A-Xii, Exa Dark Sideræl, and Techno Mechanicus, also known as Tau.
