Following the announcement of AR Rahman and Saira Banu’s separation, their daughter, Raheema Rahman, took to social media to share a poignant message about resilience.
Raheema posted a video of snowfall, accompanied by the quote:
“Through every hardship, there is ease. Your Lord is going to give you, and you will be satisfied.”
She also requested privacy for her family during this difficult time.
Family’s Quiet Appeal
The announcement, confirmed by Rahman himself on X (formerly Twitter), follows a statement from Saira’s lawyer, Vandana Shah. In his emotional post, Rahman reflected on the end of their marriage, writing: “We had hoped to complete 30 years together, but it seems everything has an unexpected end. The weight of broken hearts could perhaps shake even God’s throne. In this unraveling, we are still seeking meaning, even if the pieces never find their place again.”
The Children’s Call for Privacy
As the family processes the separation, A.R. Rahman’s children, Ameen and Raheema, have both requested privacy. Ameen reshared his father’s post, asking, “We humbly ask everyone to respect our family’s privacy during this time. Thank you for your understanding.” Similarly, Raheema appealed for respect and compassion, saying, “I sincerely ask that this matter be treated with complete respect and privacy. Thank you for your kindness.”
Rahman’s younger daughter Khadija also echoed the family’s plea for privacy, urging the public to offer understanding and support as they navigate this difficult chapter.
As the Rahman family seeks solace in the midst of personal turmoil, the public is reminded of the importance of respecting their space during this challenging time.
