The latest rankings for the world’s most powerful passports in 2024 have been unveiled, showing Singapore maintaining its top position while the United States experiences a decline.
As of 2024, Pakistan ranks 100th on the Henley Passport Index. The Pakistani passport allows visa-free access to 34 destinations worldwide, placing it in a lower tier of passport rankings globally.
According to the Henley Passport Index, developed in collaboration with Henley & Partners, a London-based global citizenship and residence advisory firm, the index has tracked global travel freedoms across 227 countries and territories for 19 years, utilizing data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
Singapore continues to lead with visa-free access to 195 destinations. France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and Spain share the second rank, offering access to 192 destinations. In third place, Austria, Finland, Ireland, Luxembourg, Netherlands, South Korea, and Sweden allow visa-free travel to 191 destinations.
The United Kingdom is ranked fourth alongside New Zealand, Norway, Belgium, Denmark, and Switzerland, each providing access to 190 destinations without a visa. Australia and Portugal share the fifth spot with access to 189 destinations.
Meanwhile, the United States has fallen to eighth place, granting visa-free access to 186 destinations. Afghanistan holds the lowest ranking, with visa-free access to only 26 countries, marking the lowest score in the index’s nearly two-decade history.
