Karachi’s Winter Vibes- Are You Ready for the Chill?

-

Karachiites, who’ve been eagerly awaiting the city’s short-lived winter, are finally getting a taste of the chill with temperatures dropping to 11°C. It’s that time of year when everyone can finally pull out their jackets, but with it comes the reality of colder winds and dropping mercury.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), Karachi’s minimum temperature is expected to hover between 10-12°C, with 36% humidity and a cool 8 km/h wind. This follows the PMD’s earlier warning of a “mild cold wave” hitting Sindh, predicting night-time temps between 7-9°C.

But Karachi isn’t the only place feeling the chill. Balochistan is seeing a serious drop in temperatures, with places like Quetta hitting -4°C, Kalat plunging to -6°C, and other areas like Nokkundi, Gwadar, and Sibi also experiencing cooler-than-usual temps.

In Ziarat, the cold winds are causing some serious trouble, with frozen water pipes and gas outages making life a bit tougher. As winter hits full force, Karachi’s youth are making the most of the cool breeze—while keeping an eye on the challenges it brings!
