Karachi is currently experiencing severe heat, with temperatures reaching 40°C and the “feels like” temperature peaking at 52°C, as reported by meteorological office.
The Meteorological Department indicates that the humidity level in the city is 53%, intensifying the oppressive heat.
Looking ahead, the Met Office forecasts a high of 41°C for the day, with isolated showers possible in the evening or night.
Northwest winds are blowing at a speed of 13 km/h, exacerbating the ongoing heatwave conditions due to the absence of a sea breeze.
Authorities from the Met Office have advised residents to take necessary precautions against the prevailing heat and humidity.
In other regions, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, Azad Kashmir, and various parts of Punjab, rain accompanied by winds and thundershowers is expected over the next 48 hours.
Conversely, Balochistan and Sindh are expected to experience mainly hot and humid weather.
According to the NDMA, Gilgit Baltistan may experience partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with possible rainfall in Diamer, Astore, Skardu, and Gilgit.
