Heavy Rain Expected in Karachi This Weekend, PMD Warns

-

Karachi is bracing for heavy rain this weekend, with the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) warning that monsoon winds will hit the city starting tomorrow.

The rain could lead to flooding in slum areas.

The PMD forecasts ongoing rain and thunderstorms in Karachi and other Sindh cities until August 25.

Gujranwala, Hafizabad, and Chiniot are also expected to see heavy rain, with warnings about potential flooding in Punjab cities.

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) is taking action to protect tourists and locals, including securing tourists in flood-hit Gilgit-Baltistan and working to repair damaged infrastructure.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called for heightened preparedness and effective evacuation plans.
