Residents of Karachi are enduring extreme heat, with temperatures soaring to 40°C and feeling like 50°C.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has advised the public to exercise caution when going outside due to the adverse weather conditions, noting that temperatures are expected to drop from tomorrow.
Earlier forecasts indicated that the city’s maximum temperature could reach 41°C, with potential for dust-thunderstorms and light rain in some areas today. The PMD has predicted hot and humid weather for the next two days, with isolated thunderstorms and rain likely from Thursday to Friday in Karachi.
The Met Office also reported that the sea breeze has halted, leaving the city with light winds from the northwest. However, the sea breeze is expected to resume by tomorrow evening.
Meanwhile, several areas in Sindh, including Tharparker, Umerkot, Badin, Mirpurkhas, Sanghar, Thatta, Sujawal, and Jamshoro districts, are expected to receive moderate to heavy rainfall from today until July 20.
Additionally, Hyderabad, TM Khan, TA Yar, Mitiari, Dadu, Kambar Shahdadkot, Larkana, Kashmore, Shikarpur, Jacobabad, Ghotki, Sukkur, Khairpur, Nausharo Feroze, and Shaheed Benazirabad districts are also likely to experience moderate to heavy rain with thunderstorms during the same period.
