The Pakistan Meteorological Department said Karachi could see rain and thunderstorms today and tomorrow, which would bring relief from the ongoing heatwave.
The Met Office expects thunderstorms before rain, mainly in the suburbs during the afternoon and evening. Yesterday, a dust storm added to the hot and humid weather in Karachi.
The Meteorological Department announced that Karachi and several parts of Sindh, including Mithi, Umerkot, Mirpurkhas, and others, are likely to experience heavy downpours and dust-thunderstorms on Tuesday.
This follows Karachi recording a “feels like” temperature of 51°C on Monday afternoon. Chief Meteorologist Karachi, Sardar Sarfaraz, attributed this weather to a low-pressure system south of India’s Gujarat, which is expected to bring thunderstorms and rain to Karachi from June 26 to July 1.
