The number of US visas issued from Pakistan is anticipated to reach unprecedented levels in 2024, according to US Embassy officials.
US consulates in Karachi and Islamabad are handling over 10,000 visa applications per month. Officials predict that by October 2024, the number of visas issued will exceed last year’s figures due to a rise in applications from Pakistan.
The wait time for visa appointments has been reduced from 440 days to 230 days.
For those who have already applied, the embassy now provides an email review system for applications. Each case is reviewed individually, with decisions typically made within three to four working days after the interview.
The embassy also confirmed that only the standard global application fee is charged.
