A train winding through the vast Thar Desert, offering passengers a glimpse into Sindh’s rich cultural legacy—this is the essence of the Thar Desert Train Safari.
The second successful run of this unique initiative has further elevated Sindh’s tourism potential. Organized by the Sindh Culture and Tourism Department in collaboration with the SIFC, the safari embarked from Karachi, passing through Hyderabad, Mirpur Khas, and Chhor, reaching Khokhrapar before making its return.
Travelers had the chance to explore historic sites up close, witnessing stunning sunsets at Chhor and Parchi Ji Wari while enjoying camel rides through the desert’s golden sands.
Held from February 26 to 27, this immersive journey was more than just a scenic ride—it was a tribute to Sindh’s heritage. Enthusiasts believe the safari will help showcase Sindh’s cultural wealth to the world while supporting local communities through tourism.
As the train returned to Karachi, it left behind more than just memories; it reinforced a deep connection to Sindh’s past and a vision for its growing tourism future.
