Stormy Weather Grounds 16 Flights from Karachi Airport

-

Light rain around Karachi airport has caused significant disruptions, leading to the cancellation of multiple domestic and international flights.

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has temporarily grounded small aircraft due to safety concerns stemming from low visibility.

This weather event has resulted in the cancellation of 16 outbound flights operated by various airlines. Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) alone has scrapped six flights, including:

PK 503 to Gwadar
PK 731 to Jeddah
PK 536 to Sukkur
PK 306 to Lahore
PK 340 to Faisalabad, scheduled for 10:30 AM
PK 310 to Quetta

Other airlines have also faced cancellations, with AirSial and Serene Air each halting three flights. Notably, AirSial’s flights PF 121 to Islamabad, PF 143, and PF 145 to Lahore were affected, while Serene Air cancelled flights ER 504 to Islamabad, as well as ER 522 and ER 524 to Lahore.

Internationally, Al Jazeera Air’s flight 5096 to Baku, Iran Air’s flight 813 to Tehran, and Qatar Air’s flight QR 611 to Doha have also been grounded.

Fly Jinnah has cancelled flights 852 to Quetta and 672 to Islamabad.

Passengers are encouraged to check their flight status regularly and to exercise patience as the CAA implements necessary safety measures during this weather disturbance.
