The MDCAT 2024 retake results have raised many questions about the effectiveness of the examination process, as only 10 candidates from Karachi made it to the top 100.
Does this suggest that Karachi’s intellectual capabilities have suddenly diminished? Or are the students from underprivileged areas like Badin, Ranipur, Khairpur, and Tharparkar outperforming their counterparts?
The final results, compiled by IBA Sukkur, showed a pass rate of 43.29% for MBBS and 50.66% for BDS candidates. Out of the 32,200 candidates who took the test, the highest scores of 192 marks were achieved by students from these less privileged regions.
The retake, ordered by the Sindh High Court due to a paper leak, was conducted by IBA Sukkur. Meanwhile, another MDCAT 2024 retake will be held in Islamabad on December 22, with only 17,597 candidates registered, a significant drop from the original 53,105.
