Senior Government Official Killed in Baluchistan Ambush

-

In a concerning incident in Baluchistan, public officials were targeted in an armed attack in the Mastung district.

The assault resulted in the death of a senior government officer, intensifying security fears in the region.

On Monday evening, District Chairman Abdul Malik and Panjgur Deputy Commissioner Zakir Baloch were ambushed in Mastung.

Both were taken to the hospital, but Zakir Baloch tragically did not survive.

Police and levies quickly arrived and began an investigation. Abdul Malik is the brother of Rehmat Saleh Baloch, a National Party (NP) member of the Baluchistan Assembly.

The National Party condemned the attack immediately. Central President and former Chief Minister of Baluchistan, Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch, along with Central Secretary General Jan Muhammad Buledi, called it a deliberate attempt to weaken the region’s leadership.

“This is a clear effort to destabilize Baluchistan,” said Dr. Baloch.

Both leaders emphasized that such terrorism will not be tolerated.

They urged for swift justice and called for better security for public officials in the province.
